Spring Creek is home to a replica of the iconic Canmore Opera House. Originally built with logs cut from the slopes of Ha-Ling Peak in 1898, the Canmore Opera house was one of Canmore’s essential gathering places for the community. It was a hub where residents and visitors could enjoy concerts, plays, dances and events.
For the past 54 years, the original structure has called Calgary’s Heritage Park its home. Developer Frank Kernick wanted to recreate the historical building and provide a gathering space in the Spring Creek neighbourhood.
The beautiful space is constructed to resemble the original log cabin, with modern amenities. With community in mind, the space is constructed to provide a gathering space that can be used for a variety of events such as conferences, weddings and parties.
Inside the Canmore Opera House, you will find all of the equipment you might need to host your event including folding chairs, tables, a kitchen with a bar, lighting, sound systems and a projector.
